1. Go to your local license office and pass the written test.
2. At your local license office, obtain a hard copy permit.
3. Call us and give us the following information:
~ Name as on driver's license
~ Address and phone number
~ Birth date
~ Permit number and license number
4. We call the state office and make your appointment. Allow 7.5 hours for the entire program.
Come to Don's Truck Towing & Truck Wash facility at 4735 S. Limit (Hiway 65), Sedalia, MO. The training professional will preview with you and take you through, one-on-one, the three parts you need to know for your test.
a. Pre-trip on truck and trailer according to standards.
b. Basic skills and backing maneuvers.
c. Road test - on the road to learn what's needed to pass your driving test.
d. Then our training professional will take you to the Missouri State Fairgrounds to the Missouri State Highway Patrol office to take your test.
When you come for your CDL training, plan on starting your morning early! Chances are you will want to rent a hotel room the night before. One right across the highway from us is the Budget Inn, 4710 S. Limit Ave., (660) 826-8662. Two within walking distance are the Sunset Motel, 3615 S. Limit Ave., (660) 826-1446 and the Super Seven, 5650 S. Limit Ave., (660) 827-0215. And, the Best Western State Fair Motor Inn with a restaurant and an indoor pool is located at 3120 S. Limit Ave., (660) 826-6100.
If you take your test in our automatic, your license will have an "automatic only" restriction.

Once you are ready to take your written test, call your local DMV office for the testing location and dates nearest to you. Once you obtain your CDL permit, call us.
Allow 7.5 hours for the complete program and call early for your appointment!
On the day of your test, we will help you become familiar with the truck and trailer and its components. You will spent two hours on pre-trip inspection and training.
From there you will spend another two hours practicing basic skills. We set up traffic cones in our back parking lot for you to practice maneuvers, parking, backing, and basic vehicle control.
Then we take you out on the road for you to practice driving. After that, you will go to the Highway Patrol office on the Missouri State Fairgrounds and they will administer test.
